MY SONGS OF 2016

Songs of 2016

This tradition of writing down the songs that I loved is well in its 4th year (that i just realised ) .Its my way of  looking back at my year via songs.  Stories and time when I first heard a  particular song and how it made me feel and of where I was. So this is the list of songs for this year  (in no particular order ).


* Catch the Wind - Donovan It's has the sweetest of lyrics

* Time In a Bottle - Jim Croce This was the first song that I heard this year which I knew immediately would make the list. Thanks!! Sahil for sharing it .

* There You go - Johnny Cash Haha!! It has really cool lyrics.
TV show : Master Of None ( Loved Season1 )

* To Fall in love with you - Bob Dylan
 I fall in love ( pun intended ) with this song every time I hear it. The Dylan's voice and the simplicity of the music is really addictive. I can hear it on loop for hours and hours. Can't wait to use it in a romantic slideshow.

* You are Everything - The Stylistics YOU ARE EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS YOU * *I Just Called To say I love You - Stevie Wonder (Call her and play that song in the background )

* Happy Together - The Turtles * Unchained Melody - The Righteous Brothers I finished " The Wonder Years" this year . The show I had been dying to watch from the time I first watched it in comedy Central 4 years ago .One of the sweetest show ever. I am in in love with Winnie Cooper forever and Fred Savage was the cutest kid ever.

* Magic - Coldplay I stopped listening to Coldplay exclusively (for no apparent reason ) . It was 7 years ago when I first heard a band singing cover of " Yellow" in our college auditorium ,while I was studying Geometry in my hostel room. It was one of the most beautiful song I heard. Thanks!! To their concert in Mumbai , and watching every available video of Chris Martin on you tube. Now I am all caught up.

HIndi Songs Of 2016

*Choo lo - The Local Train
 I was in Shimla when my friend played this song on his mobile phone. At first I didn't much of it and then ended up listening to it all the way back to Chandigarh on loop. It's sooo good.

* Dil mere - The Local Train Another track from the same band. There is one particular line which I just love " किरदारो में उलझा, उलझा जग सारा" . It really makes me smile. Note to myself : Remember that very early morning ride to Sukhna lake while listening to this track . It was beautiful.

* Humsafar - Silk Route #Song of the Year

* Kaise ho Tum - Agnee

* Mera Sapna ( A Pakistani Band ) I was downloading some other track when I download this one , which is this really really beautiful song by this Pakistani Band whose details I couldn't find on Google.

* Afreen Afreen - Rahat Fateh Ali Khan ( Coke Studio version )

Chehra jaise kali chehra jaise kanwal..... The whole paragraph makes me think of this beautiful human being that I met this year. How can someone be so nice and pretty and every time I talked to her my heart would melt with whole of me. One day I was looking at her . " John , let's go " I had to go now i though to myself . But I couldnt . i didn't want to move . I knew I could stand there and watch her for hours and hours and still my eyes will never get enough of her . The song describes her beautifully and nothing I would say can match it .

* Ek Ajnabi Hassena sai - Double Mint add
